About the Opportunity

Gradient Services now have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Lead to join their team in Malvern, VIC.

Reporting to, and working closely alongside, the Managing Director, this role is primarily responsible for leading a team of Sales Engineers in providing engineering solutions to customer problems.

More specifically, your key duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Preparing, issuing and reviewing quotes, tenders and contracts;
  • Addressing technical issues and conducting product quality discussions/inspections;
  • Compiling supplier and customer field reports; and
  • Preparing the business development plan and sales budget.

About You

To be considered for this role, you must have a tertiary Engineering qualification, preferably with a focus on Mechanical Engineering, and demonstrated experience in a relevant field.

The technical aspect of the role will require you to have a good understanding of mechanical engineering principles and the ability to solve a range of technical issues for customers as they arise.

As this is a customer-facing role, it is essential that you possess strong interpersonal communication skills and are genuinely focused on providing high quality customer service. You should bring strong negotiation and relationship management skills to the position in order to build rapport with both customers and staff, and work cohesively as part of a diverse organisation.

Ideally, you will also have an interest in business and marketing related activities that may be included as part of the business development aspect of the role. Your self-drive and initiative will be pivotal in identifying new opportunities for the business actively seeking solutions.

Experience with Solidworks and/or Ostendo will also be highly regarded, but is not essential.
